Funding Marlow Museum

We are a small museum affiliated to the Association of Independent Museums and run entirely by volunteers. We have to raise all the funds to keep the museum going and put on regular exhibitions - these ongoing costs are £8000 to £10000 each year.

While our plan is to raise enough to move to larger premises, where we can fully do justice to the fascinating history of this lovely area, our current challenge is to raise sufficient to cover our running costs.

Thank you to all the individuals and organisations whose subscriptions, donations, grants and other support have helped us to keep the museum running.

Funding sources for the Museum are:

  • subscriptions of our Members and Friends,
  • grants/funding from organisations ( please see below )
  • sales of booklets on local history that we produce,
  • sales of other items relating to Marlow created by people who allow us to share some of the sales price,
  • donations by private individuals,
  • donations from visitors,
  • donations at our Annual Street Collection,
  • Friends' fundraising events, such as the annual Bridge Evening, and the Talk with Cheese & Wine after the AGM,
  • raffles at fundraising events.
